Okay, just clarifying some things. This is a flash back that happened three days ago. In the flash back, someone was talking about 1000 years ago. So don't get confused; this is all three days ago in the story.

....don't palm trees grow coconuts, not dates? Banana trees kind of look like palm trees, though, don't they?

Maybe a baby coconut fell off? In any case, I'm thinking I might stick around. Possibly add to faves if it's as good by page 20

A coconut? Maybe if two swallows, with a bit of string, harnessed the coconut between them...

Oh right, dates are a big part of the diet in the middle-east. Anyway, a date wouldn't hurt enough to make him say 'OW!" that loud.
Go away, before I taunt you a second time!

It's not a date OR a coconut. It is either a remote control or a sandwich wrapped in tinfoil(ask the other me about this one).

Dried dates are seriously teeny. Him sleeping, and his impending doom, makes an abrupt switch from storytelling -- love it! I think there may be something strange with his jaw... I couldn't say what for the life of me, though.
Silly k'nig-its.

Possibility...
I know what it is! A bird has become petrified and has lost its sense of direction! I just started reading the comic and I like this page alot... it's very good so far!

Another Cock-Eyed Theory...
To me, it looks like a tree frog flying backwards; it's legs are in a sitting position, so the 'ancient evil' must have freeze-dyed the poor thing before throwing it. That's a very cruel Evil!
